We have to start with that exquisite new rock on your finger - congratulations! Talk us through the process from start to finish:

I knew I wanted an emerald cut diamond, so my first step was to source the perfect stone. This is the same process I do for my customers. We work with suppliers who provide detailed videos of various stones, along with all the necessary paperwork, to ensure we find the best stone at the best price.

I chose an emerald cut because of it's understated elegance, yet is also not the most common shape. I landed on a 1.5 carat natural diamond, prioritising quality over size. Due to the step cut characteristics of an emerald cut, which is not faceted, flaws are more visible, making quality paramount.

I already had a design concept in mind, and once I had the stone in hand, I was able to finalise it—a simple yet sophisticated two-tone solitaire. I chose the two-tone design because I wear both golds, and the white claws beautifully complement the diamond.

Have you thought about what wedding ring you would like to pair with it?

I chose a minimalistic setting to give myself plenty of options when it comes to pairing a wedding ring with it.

Currently, I'm considering a plain wide flat profile yellow gold band on one side and a unique diamond band on the other. Since we haven't set a date yet, I have plenty of time to finalise the designs!

The team loves admiring your latest designs. Can you share your design philosophy and explain how you collaborate with customers to create their dream pieces? Additionally, what advice would you give to those considering a custom design?

I'm passionate about creating unique and beautiful jewellery that reflects the individuality and dreams of our customers. My design philosophy revolves around a few core principles: personalisation, quality, and timeless elegance.

Personalisation: I believe every piece of jewellery should tell a story. We start by getting to know our customer and understanding their vision, preferences, and lifestyle. During in-store appointments, I take the time to listen to their ideas and inspirations. Using CAD technology, we create realistic computer renders of the designs to scale, allowing our customer to visualise their piece before it's crafted.

Quality: Each piece is meticulously crafted in our Auckland workshop, combining advanced technology with traditional hand-finishing techniques. We use only the highest quality materials to ensure the longevity and beauty of every design. Our commitment to excellence means that every piece is not just a purchase, but an investment in something that can be treasured for a lifetime.

Timeless Elegance: While we stay updated with the latest trends, our focus is on creating designs that remain elegant and relevant over time. We strive for a balance between modern aesthetics and classic beauty, ensuring that our jewellery can be worn and loved for generations.

You have an amazing jewellery collection yourself, tell us about your style and some of your favourite pieces you wear daily -

What I love about my jewellery collection is its durability and versatility. I prefer classic styles with a modern twist, keeping them timeless yet contemporary.

Investing in high-quality jewellery ensures it lasts, making it a worthwhile investment. While I enjoy occasionally changing things up, I always have my favourite go-to pieces, like gold bangles and diamond studs that match any outfit.
