Set against the stunning Clevedon countryside, Brooke and Max's wedding at The Farmhouse was a celebration of love and elegance. The picturesque white villa provided a serene backdrop for a day filled with timeless moments. Adorned in exquisite Stonz Jewellers pieces, every detail was thoughtfully curated to reflect the couple's unique style. Explore the finer details of their unforgettable day.
How did you meet?
We met in December 2016 at a dance studio in Los Angeles while starting our first contract with Princess Cruises. Cast in the same production, we spent countless hours rehearsing, and our shared passion for dance quickly brought us closer. Something just clicked between us, and the six months we spent touring were incredible; we became inseparable.
What was your engagement story?
We had planned to go for a walk that day, but I remember being in the mood for a quiet day at home. Max was acting so strange that morning; anyone who knew him understood that he was the most laid-back person, so when he insisted on taking a walk around a park in Orakei, it immediately raised my suspicions.
When we arrived, he set up his camera, and I couldn’t help but joke around, peeking into his bag. He quickly said, “No!” and that was when I started to piece things together.
After capturing the moment, we celebrated by getting drinks and calling our friends and family to share the news. The whole day was perfect; it was such an intimate moment filled with love and laughter and I knew I would cherish that memory forever.
Given the exceptional selection of pieces you're surrounded by daily, the process of selecting an engagement ring must feel both exciting and overwhelming, particularly for your partner, Max. Could you share how this experience has impacted your approach to choosing the perfect ring?
Working within the industry gave me a unique perspective when it came to choosing my engagement ring, but it wasn't an easy decision. Being surrounded by so many stunning pieces everyday actually made it more challenging as there were countless beautiful options to consider. I've always been drawn to the elegance of a rectangular diamond so it really came down to choosing between an emerald cut or a radiant cut. While the emerald cut is classic, I was captivated by the brilliance of the radiant cut - the way it sparkles and catches the light is what ultimately sold me...
"Brooke has always loved timeless, classic designs, so choosing the ring was never overwhelming. Going through the bespoke process together made it so exciting - it took away any nerves and turned the whole experience into something special we could share"
Can you share your experience of going through the bespoke design process with Max? What was the journey like for you both?
We knew from the start that we wanted to go through the bespoke process together - it was a journey that we wanted to share. These are pieces we'll wear forever, so it was important that we embark on these decisions as a team. The experience was incredible. The designers took the time to understand exactly what we wanted while offering their expert advice to make sure it wasn't just beautiful, but also practical for everyday wear. They guided us through every detail - budget, carat, style... making sure that in the end, we had something truly unique, personal and perfect for us.
"These are pieces we'll wear forever, so being part of the process together made it even more special. It wasn't about choosing a design - it was about creating something that truly reflects us and our journey"
Can you talk us about your exquisite set Brooke...
After going back and forth for so long, I finally chose a 1ct radiant cut solitaire set in 18ct yellow gold for my engagement ring, the Luna setting from our signature Stonz settings.
For my wedding ring, I paired it with an 18ct yellow gold claw-set round diamond band, the epitome of elegant and timeless, adding just the right touch without taking away from my engagement ring, it was the perfect balance.
How did you navigate choosing your wedding band Max?
I’ve always found it a bit challenging for guys as a wedding band is often the first piece of jewellery we wear. For me, it was a process of trial and error, trying on different styles to see what felt right. Ultimately, I chose a classic 18ct gold band with a brushed centre.
Can you share the thought process behind selecting the jewellery for your bridesmaids?
Nothing speaks wedding quite like pearls! For my bridesmaids, I wanted to give them something significant that would represent my wedding day. I chose a gorgeous pair of pearl earrings - simple, timeless, and sophisticated. Pearls are always the perfect choice; they’re elegant and meaningful, and you just can't go wrong with them. I wanted them to have something special they could treasure long after the day itself.
Do you have any advice for future newlyweds?
If we could give one piece of advice to future newlyweds, it would be to ensure you are present and enjoy every moment. After all the planning, excitement, and anticipation, your wedding day will pass faster than you can imagine. Just take some moments throughout the day to soak it all in! From the quiet moments before the ceremony to the joy of celebrating with loved ones, every second is worth treasuring. Don't get caught up in the little things - be in the moment because this is a day you will remember forever.
Do you have any suggestions for brides to be regarding their engagement ring?
I always encourage couples to get involved in the design process of their engagement ring. After all, it's a symbol of your love that you'll wear daily for the rest of your life. Being part of creating something so special with your partner is a truly meaningful experience. It's more than just a piece of jewellery - it's a reflection of your unique bond and one that will continue to tell your story for years to come.
